As a technology enthusiast, I have always enjoyed harnessing the power of technology to make positive changes in peoples lives. Wearing many hats throughout my career, from Software Engineer to Engineering Manager and Head of Engineering, the goal has always been to be surrounded by the best people and using the right technology to produce amazing products.

Spriggy Schools is the story of 4 engineers who believed there was a better way for parents to organise food for their children at school. We dreamed of a platform that was simple, affordable and transparent and put parents, children and schools before profits.
Starting as a passion project, we spent our weekends building a prototype and working with school operators and parents to find out just what it was they wanted from a schools focused app. Throughout the journey we always put the customer first ensuring every piece of feedback was heard and actioned upon.
Spriggy Schools disrupted the market buy bringing an innovative, transparent pricing model with a customer first approach that ensured every parent and operator had a direct line of contact to the people behind the product.
My personal journey in this app was full of memorable moments from going live to the first customer, to visiting school canteens and speaking with the parents and children that use the app daily. Behind the scenes were many challenges from pricing models, financial viability considerations and team expansion.
I’m proud to say that after writing the first lines of code and speaking to the very first customers, Spriggy Schools is now used in hundreds of schools and serves thousands of parents every week.

Spriggy is the brainchild of two visionary co-founders, Alex Badran and Mario Hasanakos. Through the use of apps and debit cards, Spriggy helps parents teach their children the value of financial literacy.
After successfully launching Spriggy Schools, I took on the role of Engineering Manager and eventually Head of Engineering for the Spriggy engineering team. A very people focused role, I’m proud of growing the engineering team from a small handful to a team of 35+ engineers.
